Cookie policy
Which cookies EuroActs.com uses, what else we store in your browser and how to change your choice.

What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places in your browser. A site can also keep data in your browser's storage (local storage and session storage). This policy lists all of them, with their purpose and how long they last. Who we are and how we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy policy.
Strictly necessary — always
The site does not work without these cookies, so they do not need your consent.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| es_sessie | Keeps you logged in to your account. Cannot be read by scripts on the page. | 30 days, or until you log out |
| es_ingelogd | Tells the site that you are logged in, so the menu shows “My account”. | 30 days, or until you log out |
| es_taal | Remembers the language you want to see the site in. | 1 year |
| es_via | Only if you arrive through a colleague's referral link: that colleague's code, so your sign-up is credited to them. | 30 days |
Storage in your browser — not cookies
This data stays on your own device. We do not read it on our server, except where stated below.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| esCookies | Your choice for or against statistics cookies, so we do not ask again on every page. | Until you change it or clear your browser data |
| esAvatar | Only when you are logged in: the address of your profile photo, so it appears straight away in the menu bar. | Until you log out |
| esHerkomst and other session data | Where your visit came from (for example a search engine or WhatsApp) for our own cookieless visitor counter, and whether you use the site in our app. | Until you close the tab |
| esLikes, esBewaard, esFeedHint | Which profiles you like or save in the swipe feed, and whether you've already seen the swipe tip — so you can find them again. This stays on your device; we never receive it. | Until you remove them or clear your browser data |
Statistics — only with your consent
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site and the app. We ask for your consent on your first visit. Only when you click Accept does Google Analytics load and does Google place these cookies:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes visitors so Google Analytics can count visits. | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Keeps track of your current visit. | 2 years |
Provider: Google. We have switched off data sharing for advertising. If you click Decline, nothing from Google Analytics loads.
Our own visitor counter — without cookies
To see how people find and use EuroActs, our own counter counts every visit, even if you decline statistics cookies. It sets no cookie and uses no identifier by which we could recognise you. Exactly what it records is described in our Privacy policy.
Videos, payments and security
- Videos on profiles first show a preview image that comes from YouTube's servers. The video itself only loads when you click play, through youtube-nocookie.com. From then on YouTube's (Google's) rules apply. In the swipe feed on the homepage and on Discover, a profile's video starts by itself after a few seconds, muted and via youtube-nocookie.com — but only if you pressed Accept in the cookie card. Otherwise the photo stays in its place.
- Payments are made on Stripe's secure page. Stripe places its own cookies there, under its own terms.
- Security: our hosting provider Cloudflare may place a strictly necessary security cookie when traffic looks suspicious, to stop abuse.
Changing your choice or deleting cookies
You can change your choice at any time with the button below or through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics stops immediately and we delete the Google Analytics cookies we can reach. You can also delete cookies yourself in your browser settings; you will then be logged out.
Changes and contact
If we start using new cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again where needed. Questions? Email us at contact@euroacts.com.
